LOSING WEIGHT — WHY ARE WE OBSESSED WHEN OTHERS DO IT?

What is our fascination when we see others losing weight?? Is it so we can comment on it? Ask the big question “How did you do it?” And, of course, “What meal plan do you use?”

Basically, losing weight is a matter of several things. Not all bodies are the same and therefore, do not react the same.

Some can do Keto without any complications — i.e. foggy head, high blood pressure, low blood sugar, etc.

Others prefer a more scheduled plan — Weight Watchers, NutriSystem, etc.

One thing that I have found that seems to work best for a lot of people, is food prep. Not necessarily meal prep, per se. Cook in batches and have readily available for your week.

Make a variety of proteins as well as veggies. Cook what you like so it will not just sit in the refrigerator and you end up tossing it. Also, don’t over cook, which I have done too many times.

When you cook in big batches, you will easily get tired of eating the same thing day after day. Try a pound of ground turkey, a few chicken breast and maybe some lean beef.

When your food is already prepared and all you have to do is heat and eat, it takes temptation off the table.

Knowing it’s already made, just take out what you want for that meal and heat it up.

I always have salad on hand as well. Eating a salad one meal a day, with protein, is a great way to get your vegetables in and good fiber.

For myself, I do not put a big salad together. I put it together for that meal. Always have organic baby spinach, romaine and a chopped bagged salad. Measure out how much I want of each, add already cooked protein and a little olive oil for dressing. If you want to use already made dressings, make sure they are not fat free or low fat. That will add unnecessary carbs.

There are times when I will put homemade taco seasoning on ground chicken when I brown it and have a taco salad, using natural salsa as my dressing. An idea for an easy, yummy salad.

So, bottom line, eating healthy is not hard. If you food prep, make sure to move your body every day, good for the mind. As long as we feed our bodies and our minds, you will see differences and feel good.

That doesn’t mean you can’t eat that piece of cake, just not every day.

Enjoy this beautiful thing called life. And remember, love yourself!
